When readers last saw Martini Harmon, she'd been recalled back to her division and had to return her M.A.N. Two months later, she's sick and nothing she takes seems to work. She can't tell anyone because her mother, General Thalassic Harmon would ground her and right now that's not an option. A Scarth invasion force is on its way and there is no guarantee they'll be able to fight them off.
Before the invasion force arrives, The High Priestess of Historical Sanctity and Cultural Holiness and her son were going to inspect the troops. To Marti's great surprise, her M.A.N. unit was the High Priestess' son, which meant he was human and more than likely fertile. Well, that explains her sickness for the past few months, but it certainly doesn't explain why he deceived her in the first place.
Will her anger get in the way of forging a permanent relationship with Denzel?
Martini on the Rocks picks up right where Marti Gets Her M.A.N. left off and successfully concludes Marti's story and introduces in more depth the heroines of the following stories. This story allows readers to get a better look at the relationship between Marti and her parents and explains a lot in regards to her character. While given glimpses of a woman who wants to be pampered and cared for in the previous book, this book really brings that home. Readers are shown what a tender, emotional person Marti truly is and how Denzel is the perfect man to complete her. A great story.

The beginning of a great series by Camille Anthony, Marti Gets Her M.A.N. is hilarious and erotic.
It's been five years since Martini Harmon, a soldier in the Earth Repulsionary Force, had had sex. On leave, she's looking forward to claiming her M.A.N., a Mechanistic Anatomically-correct Nurturer with artificial intelligence, from M.A.N.kind, Inc. She'd paid for him in advance and assumed he'd be ready for her. Imagine her surprise and anger when she is told her M.A.N. wasn't available and wouldn't be until she returned from her tour of duty several years later. That answer wasn't satisfactory and Marti was determined to do whatever it took to get her M.A.N.
When a male walks by looking exactly like the M.A.N. she's ordered, she decides to take him home and return him when her leave is over. Unfortunately, the male, Denzel Wattanu, wasn't a true M.A.N.; he's one of the men responsible for creating M.A.N units in the first place. However, he can't turn down the chance to be with the undeniably sexy Marti.
Will Marti discover the truth before her leave is over? Or will Denzel be able to pull off the charade?
To start with, this was my first tale by Camille Anthony so I wasn't sure what to expect. Camille delivered much more than I anticipated. Her futuristic world is amazing. Earth is at war and both men and women fight with equal intensity to protect it. Martini is a great heroine; refusing to take any crap and demands what she is due. As the story progresses, you see Marti and Denzel falling in love, but neither can admit because of what Denzel is supposed to be. The story leaves you hanging as her leave is canceled and the two are parted. I'm glad the next installment, Martini on the Rocks, is already available so I don't have to wait to see what happens next.
