Watching her internet connection go down for the last time and her screensaver take it's place Maggie sank into depression. Her web-based business was gone. Years Maggie had spent developing and nurturing her dream; sometimes taking 2 or 3 jobs so she could keep her business afloat. Comfort food was what she needed, ice cream--the diet she'd been on forever wasn't helping anyway. As Maggie neared the store a feeling of apprehension came over her, she began to walk faster, though not really believing that a mugger would attack a woman almost six feet tall. The blow came unexpectedly, throwing her into the alley.
Maggie fought her attacker with everything in her, but was unable to do very much as she watched her blood pool on the ground, her vision dimmed to a pinprick and then snapped away to nothingness.
Danior Blake is the Vampire Lord of New Orleans. Tall, heavily muscled, with inky black hair and eyes so dark gray they appear almost black, Danior looks like a classic vampire, especially with his penchant for wearing all black. Danior's only real responsibility is protector of his people as the Vampire Council holds the power of rulership. Fighting the Lycan who are natural enemies of the vampire are his main concern. The faint smell of fresh blood was on the breeze, Danior went to investigate and found one of his vampires feeding on a woman. Surprised that she was alive, let alone able to move after having the vampire venom of two vampire bites in her system, Danior made the decision to take her somewhere safe to see if she would survive. There was something different about this woman and he couldn't bring himself to destroy her.
Maggie and Danior are very attracted to each other, even to the point of obsession, but they're not able to trust one another. Both have been brutally betrayed by lovers and don't feel they can't place their faith in another for fear of being betrayed again. Now in addition to coping with their attraction to one another, they must deal with the hunters whom the council has sent after them because of Danior's failure to follow council rules regarding the disposal of humans.
Carnal Thirst moves along at a good pace. The romance between Maggie and Danior is very believable. Celeste Anwar easily pulls you into the lives of these two as you read about how they learn to trust again. The sex scenes are hot enough to scorch, yet the tender way Danior treats Maggie and coaxes her to trust him, makes Carnal Thirst a beautiful romance. Carnal Thirst , was indeed a pleasure to read, and impossible for me to put down until the very end, I highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading more stories from the very talented Celeste Anwar.

She had been chosen as his bride, one of six brides for the six Fay kingdoms. From the moment Frost laid eyes on his chosen bride, he knew she was the only one for him. Instead of consummating their marriage, she had run away, disappeared from the Fay community. For ten years he had searched for her and tonight he had finally found her.
Still hurt and simmering with resentment, Frost planned to claim her as their laws permitted, then leave her. Let her suffer as he had suffered, then he maybe he would be free.
Darcy recognized him the moment she slipped on the glamour. She couldn't avoid him, but refused to be with a man who didn't love her. Yet seeing him tonight, she couldn't turn away, couldn't leave him in such pain even if it meant risking her heart.
Short, remarkably sensuous and ripe with emotion, The Color of Twilight is not to be missed. Ms. Anwar's has given these characters great depth and a history together; to move forward they must resolve the past. I was surprised at how well I felt I knew the characters and was able to relate to them. My first tale by Celeste Anwar, The Color of Twilight will certainly not be the last.
