The third and final book in the Prescott Pilots series centers on Carlie Prescott and her relationship with close friend (and former brother-in-law) Michael.
Before she ever met her ex-husband, Carlie was good friends with Michael. In fact, Michael was the reason she'd met his handsome, playboy brother. Blinded by his Brandon's good looks and charm, she didn't learn the truth about his nature until too late. Finally tired of the beatings and the putdowns, she divorced Brandon and moved back home with her parents.
It's been several years since her divorce and Carlie is still smarting from the emotional damage her ex-husband inflicted. After her sister Sharla's wedding, she heads towards the pool, hoping to find solace. Soon afterwards, Michael joins her and Carlie's had had just enough champagne to lose her inhibitions and has sex with him.
In the morning, when the champagne bubbles clear, will she face the fact that what happened with Michael is something she really wants? Or will she hide her feelings? Her decision will have to be made quickly, because Michael is determined to finally prove she was meant for him and that he isn't his older brother.
While shorter than the previous Prescott Pilot books, Loving Carlie is just as emotional, sensual and fun. Carlie and Michael have this history and connection you recognize instantly. Once you learn about Carlie's history, it is easy to understand why Carlie is emotionally guarded and why she lets the past influence her decisions where Michael is concerned. This background makes the ending that much more satisfying and will have you crying tears of joy.
