Try Dying is the last suspense novel by best selling author James Scott Bell. It's no secret-if you read my reviews of his work-that I am a huge fan of Bell's. It's not often I can say that I've never been disappointed with everything a writer has written. But I'm saying it now. Bell delivers. Always.

In this latest novel, Ty Buchanan, is a lawyer with it all. He has a shot at partner with his firm, is in the middle of an important legal battle, and engaged to the woman of his dreams. Life couldn't be better. Unfortunately for Ty, life was about to spin him 180 degrees.

After shooting and killing his wife, Ernesto Bonilla commits suicide-jumping off an expressway bridge. His body crashes onto the hood of a car on the road below. The woman driving the car dies. That woman was Jacqueline Dwyer-Ty's fiancée.

Dealing with the death of Jacqueline was tough enough on Ty, but when a vagrant tells him that Jacqueline was alive after Ernesto's body fell on her car-and that he witnessed another man actually murder Jacqueline-it is almost more than Ty can handle.

Unable to focus on work, Ty begins an investigation all of his own. Following leads, and exposing himself to many dangerous situations, Ty slowly uncovers a sinister cult with sinister plans. Although the threats against Ty become more serious, and deadly, he refuses to quit shaking things up until he has found the answers he is looking for ... or until he is dead.

Try Dying is a classic noir-style story telling with all the additives that made Mickey Spillane novels gritty and memorable. The way I understand it, Try Dying is the first in a series to feature attorney, Ty Buchanan. What can I say-now I have to find something else to keep me busy while I anxiously await the next installment! Bell, if you're reading this review, stop and get back to writing. It's not right to keep the public waiting!
