Student Affairs Counselor and former forensic psychologist Ardis Jensen has a strong sense, when a body is discovered in a canyon, that it may belong to a student at Clarion University where she works. Even worse, she feels the killer is also a student. Can she avoid becoming deeply involved in this case?

With her background in forensics, Ardis is called to the case once the body is identified. Will she be able to handle this, especially since she walked away from her career seven years previously? Why do they need her on the case? What could she bring to it? Though she is beset by apprehension and fear, Ardis begins to realize what expertise she can bring to this case.

Murder Canyon is written with expert layering, which allows us to find out what happened to the victim. We are also benefited by Ardis' psychology expertise in getting into the mind of the killer. The problem is: there's no shortage of suspects.

The victim had been dead for several months, so the killer may have thought he or she got away with the crime. But the investigation done by Ardis and others makes the killer quite nervous and Ardis is placed in danger.

Murder Canyon moves quite swiftly. The anxiety I felt in wanting the killer identified was doubled when hoping for Ardis' safety. It was very intriguing to watch each suspect examined, then eliminated. Murder Canyon definitely kept me guessing.
