David Campbell has a secret he has been carrying with him for many years. A past that may now jeopardize his job and cause laughter or scrutiny from his fellow colleagues. A past that is now coming back to haunt him. A past that he once embraced and deep inside dreams of embracing once again but he has been conditioned by his Southern born father, grandfather and society for many years. Conditioned into thinking that his desires are wrong, sinful.

Back when David was in college he fell in love with two people. His roommate Jason and his girlfriend Joy. But something happened when he was younger that made him turn his back on his two loves. David is now in his fifties, his father and grandfather now dead. Joy and Jason have now turned up back into his life and want to start up where they left off all those years ago.

David still feels the attraction to them. He fights this attraction with all his might. He wants to be with them both but feels the need to do so in hiding. Joy and Jason still love him. They still want him but they will not allow themselves to be hurt any more by David's fears and prejudices. In the end they find they have to give him an ultimatum. Either he embraces them both with out the fear of being seen in public...or never to have anything to do with either one of them ever again. Will David be able to follow his hearts desire? Or let his head and fears rule him?

Danger of Discovery is part 2 in author Rachel Bo's Strength in Numbers series. The first book, Double Jeopardy, is the story of David's son, Sutter and his relationship with his two loves. While this story, Danger of Discovery, is a stand-alone story I highly recommend readers to read Double Jeopardy to get a feeling for all the characters and their personalities that are explained fully in the first book.

Danger Of Discovery is a super HOT story. Author Rachel Bo did not let me down, like I knew she wouldn't. I fell in love with the characters and storyline in her first book and this second in the series just sizzles with sexual energy, adventure and romance. I'm surprised my computer didn't have a melt down from all the heat. The characters are real with their wants, needs and torment. The story line and plot are unique and one that captures the readers from the beginning. I found myself anxiously turning the pages; afraid to put the story down even for a minute I was so enthralled and didn't want to miss one thing. I congratulate Rachel Bo on another excellent story and one that definitely will stay on my keeper shelf for years to come to read over and over again. Don't miss this story. It's a definite MUST read.

A sculptor herself, Danni loved collecting and rescuing pieces for her home. The moment she saw the large anatomically correct gargoyle destined for the junkyard, she knew she had to have him. How could anyone want to get rid of such a magnificent piece of workmanship? With the help of her older brothers, she places the gargoyle inside her workroom. Out of all the many pieces she owns this is the first created by someone else she has ever placed inside her workroom. Later that night, she lays on the cot in her workroom and pleasures herself. As she pleasures herself, Danni feels another mind touch hers. This other mind brings her pleasure to greater heights. Afterwards, she is so shocked and scared by what happens she avoids the workroom for several weeks.

Grellix couldn't believe how stupid he was. He was so taken by Danni he couldn't control himself and touched her harder than he intended. He was a Guardian, his spirit encased in stone, only free to move about during the night. During the day, the sun gave him the power to touch others with his thoughts. For years he'd longed to be free from the constraints the rock placed upon him, but until he found his life-mate there was no chance he would ever be free. Only if Danni were willing to share the life-gift, her blood, would he be free.

Danni returns to her workroom, unable to keep away. Deep in her heart she knows there is an ancient intelligence, a strong presence, encased in the stone gargoyle. She must find a way to set him free. But how? An accident while working provides her with the answer and she eagerly makes the sacrifice needed. Finally brought to life, Grellix claims Danni as his own, deciding to reveal the sacrifice she must be willing to make if they are to be together for eternity.

Wow. Utterly amazing and completely unforgettable. Those are just a few words to describe Rachel Bo's short sexy tale, Heart of Stone. I have always loved gargoyles and longed for a story to bring them to life as the intelligent, sensual characters I've always pictured them as. Ms. Bo brings them to life magnificently and every moment of this novella left me begging for more. There is a wonderful depth to Danni and Grellix not often found in a tale of this length (35 pages). And the sex scenes *fanning self*, they will definitely leave you hot and bothered.

I highly recommend Heart of Stone. It is one tale destined for my keeper shelf, where I know it will receive many rereads as I await the second book in the Guardians series.
