September is a few days away, and Qwilleran and the other residents of Moose County are preparing for a flurry of events. From the Highland Games to the reopening of the Pickax Hotel to the arrival of the esteemed jeweler Delcamp. There's no shortage of events to keep everyone busy.
Being his normal inquisitive self, Qwilleran is most anxious to see what occurs during one of Delcamp's invitation-only teas. With the help of some friends and little theatrical makeup, he poses as a security guard. Much to his dismay, the teas are rather boring affairs; the ladies sip tea while Delcamp charms them. Dejected he returns home only to be awakened at two-thirty am by a screaming Koko.
Koko, known for his ability to solve crimes, never does anything without a good reason. So the next morning when Delcamp is found dead in his hotel room, Qwill's mind begins racing. Did Koko know the jeweler was being murdered? And why is Koko suddenly fascinated with the story of Oedipus Rex and Brazil nuts?
Never has there been an odder crime-solving duo than that of Qwilleran and Koko, yet you'll never find any better. The reader remains engrossed in the story, trying to piece the clues together and predict what Koko will do next. Truly a talented author, Ms Braun has spun yet another must-read!
