Advanced Candle Magick is one of many books written by Raymond Buckland, PH.D. What can I add that hasn't been said about this book? Probably not as much as I'd like. This was one of the first books I ever bought as I explored the concept of magick. Pretty much every teen and young adult has troubles finding spell components to cast ritual spells. Having this book and the first book, Practical Candleburning Rituals, showed many of us that you can use your will, the right candles, and some small accessories to cast spells.

Ray Buckland walks you through using ritual, astrology, colors, and more to show you how to create and use magick. I found this book extremely easy to use as well as fun to read. The illustrations are amazing. Each spell is explained thoroughly so you're left with understanding.

With the appendices filled with information, you can find tons of helpful hints and tips. Each table takes you step by step in the manner of making, prepping, and using each candle. The tables also help you to know that the candle representing Monday should be white while the candle for Saturday is black. I adore his list of the properties of semi-precious and precious stones.

This book is truly one of those books that make the keeper shelf. It's makes the core of books I use in reference over and over again. I enjoy Ray Buckland's works and look forward to more books to add to my reference library.
