Little Badger is pretending to be a pirate. He wobbles and waddles through the forest on his way home. Along the way, he meets Woodchuck and Raccoon and others. They all ask why he's walking funny and laugh when he says he's a pirate. After all, they seem to believe that without a striped shirt or cocked hat or a parrot, you can't be a pirate. No matter what they say, Little Badger never stops smiling because he knew something they didn't. Something Old Badger had told him. With this in mind, he stayed his course and smiled the entire way.
Little Badger, Terror of the Seven Seas is truly an amazing book. It inspires the imagination and teaches the benefits of using the imagination. My children loved it, even though they knew what Little Badger knew about pretending. You can be anything you want to be and do anything you want to do as long as you use your imagination. In a world filled with video games and television programs, it was heartwarming to see a book extolling the wonders of using your imagination. That's why this book will always have a spot on our "special" bookshelf.
