Duty or love? Loyalty is the only thing Roarke has ever known. Every since he was a child, protecting Winterland and Garick has been his lifelong duty. That duty includes honoring the arrangement the fairie princesses of D'Naath have to marry kings. One such princess, Solara, has won Roarke's heart. Solara's fate is to marry Braeden, a southern king. Each of her sisters has a similar fate. The fairies are in danger of the wizards, and these arranged marriages will serve to unite the lands north and south of D'Naath.

When Solara's sister, Noele, went to meet her fated husband, Garick, the Elvin king - Kismet: Winterland Destiny - Solara felt an amazingly powerful connection to Roarke. Solara has tried to get rid of her feelings for Roarke over the many months since she's seen him last. Solara has gone to visit Noele and Garick, along with her three sisters Trista, Elisa and Mina. She has not gone there to fantasize about being with Roarke, or to act on her feelings. In just under a month, Solara will marry Braedon. It is fate, even if she is in love with Roarke. Her fate is sealed. She and her sisters do not have the luxury of choosing a man they love. They are marrying for duty.

Kismet: Fiery Fate is a strong emotional story. The sizzling sexual and emotional connection Solara and Roarke share is intense and nearly heartbreaking. The sexual tension in this book is powerful as well. All Solara really wants is the palpable love Garick and Noele share. She knows she could only ever have that with Roarke, yet their destinies will not allow them to fully express their love.

Strong character development is displayed in this latest book by Burton. Roarke shows an impressive display of loyalty and honor. Solara understands her duty, no matter how difficult. This story will reward its readers with a heartwarming conclusion. I look forward to reading more Kismet stories.

Dr. Jasmine "Jaz" Quinlan is desperate to save the lives of about a dozen beached dolphins, near the aquarium where she lives and works. After calling for a rescue crew, they tirelessly bring the beached animals into the aquarium and begin rescue attempts. Jaz must quickly determine what is wrong with the dolphins and find out the best thing to do to keep them alive.

Triton "Trey" Sanders and the people of Oceana, guardians of the sea, have done all they can to keep their dolphins alive. Oceana has rules that forbid them from calling attention to their civilization. What is Trey to do now that the land humans are caring for the dolphins? Trey receives an order from Ronan, his leader, to go to land and work with Dr. Quinlan to try and find out what is ailing the dolphins. Trey is the guardian of the dolphins and thus must accept this assignment, as much as he hates land.

Trey is very unhappy about having to spend time with a land human, especially a woman. This is because years ago, his woman, Leelia, chose to live as a land human rather than to spend her life with Trey, in Oceana. Trey still has not gotten over that hurt. It is heartwarming to see how Jaz affects Trey. Jaz has never found a man who appeals to her, excites her. What appeals to Jaz is sea life and all its creatures. Jaz is especially curious when an apparently healthy - and very intelligent - dolphin is found beached. She feels so connected to the dolphins - especially this new one - that she wonders if she was meant to live on the ocean rather than the sea. A childish dream, for certain.

Trey is enigmatic and sexy and he quickly discovers an intense, psychic connection with Jaz. Jaz doesn't understand many things about Trey, only that she finds him exciting, and she wonders if she'll be able to have a lifetime with a guardian of the sea, one with amazing abilities.

We met Trey in an earlier book of Ms. Burton's Passion in Paradise: Paradise Discovery. It is exciting to read his story now. It is also very rewarding to see Trey find happiness with Jaz. For a delightful love story, as well as insight into the lives of dolphins, be sure to pick up a copy of Dolphin's Playground. When you do, you'll quickly realize that Jaci Burton is not only an author to watch, but one to fill up your keeper shelves with.
