After Kate Jacobs ends up in a hospital from being run over by a hit and run, she finds two men drawn to her with the strange idea that she is being hunted by dark forces and only her and her daughter have the pure power to destroy these forces.
Mike and Ray help her find her daughter when she goes missing, they also help her gain control of these powers they keep telling her she has. After much convincing, she decides to listen to these two men and she learns exactly what her powers mean and what she can do with them. But will it be enough to fight this evil force out to destroy her, her daughter and prevent the birth of another not yet conceived?
This was one of the best stories I have read in a long time. From the Dark Places was well written and you can't seem to turn the pages fast enough. You fall in love with the characters and you find you want to scream at some of them whether to knock scene into them or to help them out. This a definitely a story that I would recommend to any horror/romance lover because this one combines the two perfectly.

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair". Well that is not how Alaric gains entrance to see Rapunzel he just has to be invited in. Of course Rapunzel will grant him access since the only person she does see is the evil witch, Mother Selene. But whether it is a wise decision to allow Alaric in remains to be seen. Alaric is a vampire and seeks a taste of Rapunzel's virgin blood along with sampling her virgin body. Rapunzel longs to experience the pleasures that have always been forbidden to her. Alaric not only gives Rapunzel's body pleasure, but also shows her the world outside her tower that she is being robbed of. But will giving into their desire for each other bring death upon them?
Adult fairy tales have always been my favorite. As a child it was always a way for me to escape my room, as an adult, it is a way to escape reality. Just because we grow up, doesn't mean we have to say goodbye to the classics. So when an author like Margaret Carter, takes a classic and adds an erotic twist, it is always a pleasure. I highly recommend this great short story. It was a wonderful new version to the Rapunzel fairy tale.
