She was divorced. Single again after eleven years. Trying to figure out who she was and get over her post-divorce depression was a bit harder than Maddie had expected. Why did she still want to be with Albert? After all, he was the one who ended their marriage and turned their life upside down. So why did she still miss being married? Maddie had no idea where to start, but she was pretty sure going to a party wasn't really the best way.

Dragged off to a party by her friend Corrine, who really meant well, it was just her luck the party was in a smoke-free room. She ducked out of the room and started looking for a place to smoke, found another party where smoking was allowed and slipped in. She didn't expect to find a room full of people in animal costumes. Even more unexpected was a giant bunny introducing himself (Cole Ashton) and then hitting on her!

After helping the giant bunny take off his headpiece, Maddie found herself face to face with an absolutely gorgeous man. They talk for a few minutes and Cole gives her his business card, tells her to call him when she's ready to move on. What's a girl to do? Keep the card and call the handsome guy, even if he does dress up like a bunny? Granted, he had a good excuse for dressing up like a bunny, but still...a bunny costume?

Urged by Corrine and her therapist, Maddie joins a group for divorced women. Not really wanting to be there, she is pleasantly surprised by how much she likes the other three ladies: Maxine, the sweetheart whose husband beat her; Victoria, who always has to be in control; and Katy, the group leader and least bitter of them all. In a few short weeks, Maddie begins to think of them as family and turns to them for advice on what to do about Cole.

Should she stop seeing him? Just use him for sex? Or take the plunge and start dating again? Just where will Maddie's heart lead?

The Ex-files: Mayhem and Maddie was my first book by Dakota Cassidy, but certainly not my last. While I've read erotic romances with humor, I was never thought one could be this humorous and still maintain a high level of sensuality. Whew! Dakota Cassidy blends the two to a perfection, creating a tale with characters you sympathize, rejoice, worry and thoroughly enjoy spending time with. I loved every moment of this book, but most especially the part where Cole and Maddie meet. Reading about the fur swap or furcon, not to mention the yiffing...had me laughing for the longest time.

I highly recommend you don't miss Mayhem and Maddie; it's a gem. And don't forget to check out Dakota's site, www.dakotacassidy.com, for more information on all her available and upcoming books.

Cara Anthony has it bad for one of her customers at the cafeteria she owns and runs. The customer is a business owner and Cara is certain he couldn't tell her from Eve. One day upon arriving home, Cara runs into three very beautiful, albeit simple, women. Pass the smelling salts, because they tell her they are from the F.M.P. Society, and they are there to make Cara over so that the man she wants so very badly will now notice her. They are her fairy godmothers, with a very special pair of shoes.

Cara has no choice but to go along with them. What can it hurt? Will Alex Mackenzie finally notice her? This is a risk worth taking, even if it takes Cara a while to have faith in the three women - Simone, Katia and Mia, gorgeous models who had all been killed during a runway accident. They don't know the ropes well of their new job, but they mean well, and Cara finds herself endeared to them.

Alex can't believe he finally got up the nerve to ask Cara Anthony out. He's been wanting to for some time now, and he finally has a date with her. He certainly hopes she's not like all the other women he's dated. Alex owns his own company, and women seem to want nothing more than a credit card with a huge spending limit. Will Alex get to know Cara before his libido wins out?

What a sizzler! Cara and Alex burn up the pages in F.M.P. Society. The special shoes the women gave Cara? Are they what is pulling her and Alex together? What will happen once the shoes are gone?

If you want a deep, gut-wrenching story, then don't read this one. If you want a light read where you can take a while to believe the fantastic fantasy woven here, spun with a delightful sense of humor, then be certain to pick up a copy of F.M.P. Society. Despite the fantasy, despite the comedy, there is a message here. The message is for Cara, but we can all take it to heart. Ms. Cassidy surely knows how to entertain her readers.

Oh, and the F.M.P. Society - what does it stand for? If you haven't guessed by now, then you really must pick up this book.
