The Slow-Down Diet will revolutionize your eating habits, completely changing the way you view food.
When I first received this book for review, I thought about sending it back to Sharyn. I am against diets and have never been on one, but after three kids I had gained a good bit of weight. What made me consider reviewing it? The subtitle: Eating for Pleasure, Energy and Weight Loss. A pleasurable diet? An oxymoron, right? As I read, I realized The Slow Down Diet isn't really a diet, it's a lifestyle change.
In this rather short book, a mere ten chapters, David debunks food myths and explains the latest scientific information and how it pertains to the way the body digests food. The main thing this program requires is time. Time to eat your food, to enjoy the taste, texture, feel, smell and appearance of your food. In our fast-paced world, it is much easier to lean toward fad diets and quick fixes than to take the time to change our opinions and attitudes about food.
After reading and applying the steps in The Slow Down Diet, I lost fourteen pounds and even more importantly, made mealtimes more relaxed and enjoyable.
The Slow-Down Diet is a life-changing program that doesn't deprive you of your favorite foods and in fact, offers you a chance to truly enjoy them!
