Corinne Bullwinkle is a cop playing an undercover Santa. Having been knocked down by a guy she's called "Briefcase" for the last several days, might just be just her luck. She finally meets him - a yummy English Guy named Grant Daniels, and is bowled over by his charm. Though they are from two different worlds, they find plenty in common in Davidson's hilarious novella.
Six terrific and multi-talented authors put together a delightful holiday six-pack. Though each story is short, there is a warm sense of completion with each story. If you want to curl up on a cold night, with a warm cup of hot chocolate, make it a double or a triple, because you are not going to want to put Merry Christmas, Baby down.

MaryJanice Davidson treats her readers to three connected stories in Under Cover.
Sweet Strangers
Renee Jardin is having a hard time trying to figure out why she's running for her life. Just days before, she was head security at a biotech firm, Anodyne, and now she is being chased by their security team, and others. She thinks she's made yet another close escape, when she lands in an elevator with a gorgeous hunk who she decides to kiss vigorously in order to trick the people chasing her.
After a toe-curling kiss, Eric Axelrod must inform the woman in his arms that he is former NSA, and now a private eye, hired to find her. How convenient she landed in his arms. Thoroughly shaken by that delicious kiss, Eric takes this woman and tries to find out some information on a missing Anodyne invention. However, Renee is quicker than Eric could've imagined, and she gets away from him more than once, which leads to a quick game of cat and mouse. Eric keeps rescuing her, or finding her. Each time, his respect for her grows another notch, as does his desire for her.
Renee needs someone to trust. She knows the main guy she's running from, her boss, The Jackal, is bad news, very dangerous. She does not feel that sense of danger with Eric. Will she give into this incredible passion she feels for him, and even learn to trust him? While watching this love story develop, the excitement in this novella is thrilling and fast-paced.
Lovely Lies
Peter Random just disappeared when his boss, The Jackal, attempted to kill Renee Jardin, and now he is out of a job, and broke. What will Peter's reaction be when Lori Jamieson approaches him for a job? Lori is running from her mother's husband and his son. When her mother died, she told Lori to get away, to stay away. Lori managed to do that for a year, and now they are closing in on her. Lori has an inheritance that her mother's husband demands is his.
Will Peter help Lori? Especially after she tells him that it is fate that brought her to him? When you read Lovely Lies, you just may believe in the same fate Lori does, especially with the connection of Peter's last name.
Delightful Deception
Thea "I.Q." Foster has a new boss at Anodyne, Jimmy Scrye. She was in a twist because her old boss, referred to as The Jackal, would not allow her invention of PaceIC to proceed, causing Thea to hide it in Renee Jardin's belongings in order to protect the product. Now there is a new owner. Will he allow her to continue to work with her inventions?
Jimmy Scrye is sloppy, goofy, but highly intelligent. He's also gorgeous. He has a goal. He wants one of his newest employees to continue development on a product called "Faskin". Thea doesn't know why Jimmy is pushing her on her invention, but she at least can feel a sense of job security now. In the meantime, Thea is besieged by fantasies of her and Jimmy. How long will it take for those fantasies to become reality?
Ms. Davidson has given us three remarkable stories with more than one thing in common - the characters all share a common thread, and the men in these stories tend to develop strong passionate feelings before the woman. That was thoroughly refreshing to read. I also enjoyed Ms. Davidson's discreet credit to Lori Foster in each novella.
With an exciting debut to Kensington Brava, this multi-published author continues to excite readers with her prolific writing.
