Just like every other day when her workday was done, Jeannie Lawrence walked into the elevator, hit the button to the ground floor and promptly buried her nose into her magazine du jour. Suddenly the lights go out and the elevator stops dead, and from that moment on, her life was never the same.

Jeannie isn't anyone's fool or victim as she has a black belt in karate and was born from the joining of a cop and a special forces veteran who generously taught her how to defend herself. Too bad all of her training and practice couldn't stop a werewolf during the night of a full moon, an hour from his change.

Michael Wyndham the third, is obscenely rich, good looking and King of over 300,000 werewolves world-wide. Although pestered to find a mate and whelp his heir, Michael hasn't been interested, women are meant for momentary pleasure, not to become a part of his life, forever. Boy was he wrong.

Knowing he had to leave the building fast, Michael got onto the elevator and had only getting home on his mind, until, the power to the elevator cut and he was overcome by the irresistible scent of the woman sharing his car. She was in heat, he could smell it, and this close to his change...he had to have her, NOW! The only thing going through his mind, he couldn't stop, he couldn't, not, have her.

Jeannie wasn't scared when the tall stranger with the sexy as hell voice started touching her, she was highly trained and strong enough to take out any attacker...she thought.

Although rape would turn me off totally and having the book that contained it flying across the room, MaryJanice Davidson brought beauty and heat into this, well, it ended up consensual, so it wasn't actually a rape, more a forced seduction that curled my toes and had me believing that, yes, and eternal love can be found from such a first meeting if both the circumstances and the ones involved mesh well. Michael made sure that Jeannie didn't get hurt, even though he was fighting both the change and his nature to mate with a woman who was both in heat (ovulating) and had a scent that went straight to his head and libido.

I was supposed to be reviewing another book but Love's Prisoner called to me. I have always loved MaryJanice Davidson's stories, her humor and characters are loves of mine and I just couldn't wait to see how she wrote werewolves. I tried to just read the first few pages to get a feel for this story, then I promised myself, just the first chapter...well, before I knew it, the book was done and I was totally satisfied with this fantastic book! As you can tell, the Wyndham werewolves captured and imprisoned me as well. I highly recommend this wonderful tale, and I can't wait to read more of this pack!

Dr. Gladys Loder spends all her days on C Block tending mutant's sickness and injuries, and is called the Angel of C Block because she never turns them in to the government. Lonely and wanting a man-just so she could have a child-Gladys' prospects have been nil. If she could only find one that she wanted-genetically speaking-she could be happy. Jaz is a mutant on a mission, he needs to bring the Doc to his apartment with a few other things to win a scavenger hunt, he just didn't expect the "norm" to be so attractive. Too bad mutes and norms don't mix...or maybe for one night they could.

Charming The Snake is an anthology of three wonderful stories, all of which I enjoyed tremendously. Savage Scavenge has incredible mutants, easy to like; Seducing The Saint has unexpected twists and scorching love; Carte Blanche has strong heroine that is enraptured by a gorgeous rake with some pretty humorous moments. With strong storylines and characters, I loved all three and I look forward to more from these very talented authors.
