Who knew that going to an AA meeting could cause so much trouble? Well, Betsy should have clued into the fact that Cameras + Reporters = Oops, shouldn't have done that. But, what's a girl supposed to do when trying to kick the need to drink. Ok, it's not alcohol, but it's an addiction and an addiction is still and addiction...well, sorta.
Family, can't live with em, can't get away with killing 'em. When Betsy's day showed up on her doorstep to make sure that she wasn't going to show up for her stepmonster's baby shower, he let it slip that Antonia (the Ant) had, had a child before...his. Now, Betsy is on the trail of her half-sister. Oh, one little problem, Antionia had been possessed by the Devil herself while she was pregnant, and her half-sister is the daughter of the blending of personalities. With being the vessel for the Devil, you'd think someone would have noticed a change in Antionia...but they didn't.
After Betsy finds out that Sinclair knew (read) about her having a sister...which is just another little prophecy foretold in, you guessed it, the vampire bible otherwise known as The Book Of The Dead, she locked herself into the library and started reading the dreaded tomb.
Becoming evilly insane isn't bad...til you wake up the next afternoon and remember every rotten deed you did to those you love...and love to bitch about. It takes a while, but eventually all is forgiven, even if everyone is a little leery around her, just waiting for her to go off the deep end again. One good thing comes from her 'episode', Betsy now wakes up in the afternoon and can enjoy sunlight again (which irks Sinclair, a good thing).
After tracking down her sister Laura, Betsy gets to meet her and finds that for the daughter of the evil Ant and the Devil...she's so sweet that you'd get cavities and about as boring as a person can get. Is this her true self, or is it an act? Betsy is just waiting for the other shoe to drop...
Undead and Unappreciated is the third book in the Undead series and what a sequel, I loved it! Betsy and Sinclair are still not a match made in...heaven, and watching their relationship evolve is an adventure in itself, which adds humor and steamy moments to this story. As Betsy's family grows, the exploits never stop and neither does the amusement. MaryJanice Davidson has written Undead and Unappreciated with her trademark, wonderful sense of humor which made me laughing out loud, groaning with 'oh, man, I knew Betsy would do something like that', and engrossed me so deeply into the pages of this world of vampires that I just couldn't put it down. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series!
