Dey really did hate these midnight raids on ancient Beast temples. The only reason she went was to keep her best friend Luna company and out of too much trouble. If she didn't go, Luna would go by herself, just for the thrill it provided. According to their research, this temple was only accessible one night out of the year and contained some remarkable technology. All they had to do was get past the ancient booby traps and the treasure was theirs for the taking.

Unfortunately, neither Dey nor Luna had counted on Armetris and his friend Keg stopping them inside the temple. The girls were bound and taken away from the temple back into the swamps. Dey didn't really mind that the guys had prevented them from raiding the temple; she just hated the fact Keg had to be one of the men. There was something about him that kept her on edge; if she was honest with herself it was because she was attracted to me. Not that she'd ever let him know that.

Growing up in the swamps, Dey was quite able to take care of herself. A skill that proved invaluable when Luna pulled a stupid stunt and got the two of them banished. Now years later, the war between the Beasts and Symbionts was over and Dey found herself a captive. To her great surprise her captor was none other than Keg, someone she had always believed was a Symbiont. Can she put her anger and hurt aside and find love in the arms of her friend-turned-enemy?

Bad Moon Rising is a fast-paced science fiction romance filled with exotic locales, strange species and unforgettable characters. As the reason behind the Beast/Symbiont wars or the differences between them wasn't really clearly spelled out in the beginning, I had a hard time following the storyline at first. However once I started reading, the characters themselves called to me and pulled him into their lives. Ms. Dawn has done an amazing job creating a world completely alien, yet in many ways familiar. If you love science fiction, then Bad Moon Rising is for you.

Ali stood in front of her grandmother's old cheval mirror, checking her appearance. This was the last time she'd be able to study her reflection in this particular mirror. All of her grandmother's belongings were to be sold at auction. Ali looked at her reflection and thought she saw something in the mirror. As she looked again, she saw trees and grass and more. Placing her hand on the mirror, she was surprised to find it felt like liquid, and she stepped through to a completely different world.

As she looked around her new surroundings, she was surprised to see a man on a bike riding up. He introduced himself as Rabbit and after a few moments told her to hop on behind him. As he takes her to the nearest city, they run into a few of his friends, around whom he takes a protective air. To Ali's great surprise he takes her to dressmaker who dresses her in a wedding gown. What is going on?

When Ali wakes up the next morning, she heads to work at the coffee shop and can't stop thinking about her dream lover. She knows her dream will eventually come true, otherwise why would there have been a playing card (the Queen of Hearts) on her pillow?

Short, but very fun, Through the Looking Glass is one of the best renditions of Alice in Wonderland that I have ever read. We meet all of the memorable characters in so many different guises, and the twists Ms. Dawn adds makes the tale completely different. I highly recommend this charming story.
