The city of Falmore, on the world of Marna, is the one place that all races come to experience other cultures and buy objects from far distant lands. Here an unlikely group stumbles across one another. A banished teenage priestess from Telnir, a mage from the barbaric northern regions, a two-foot tall, playful Zithaen, an exotic Anai, a Prince from the Saeraian Plains, a Knight of the Veeder, and a former Knight from Kensington.

No matter how hard they try, incidents keep finding them that necessitate they fight together. Eventually they understand that all their paths are leading them to fight the evil that is trying to darken Marna forever.

Adrian Drake has written a fascinating tale of the quest of good against evil. The characters are made very real through their actions and dialogue. A dialogue that sometimes made me laugh, and sometimes made me want to "smack somebody."

The blending of the different cultures from the world of Marna was as intriguing and diverse as the Earth we live on now. I liked how this book kept me interested and let me escape from my own world for a time.
