He has spent centuries without feeling, without seeing color. A bleak and dark existence. Then he hears the music, the music of one blind woman that changes his world forever. His lifemate, the light to his darkness. Now there is nothing he will allow to stand between them. Not her fears, not her strange bloodlines, and not those who have set out to destroy her and her family.

This book combines an excellent mix of sensual romance, the paranormal, and lots of action, and intrigue. Christine Feehan has out done herself again. The characters will keep you up all night, your heart pounding, and aching with the want of a Carpathian lifemate. Byron is sensual, handsome, strong, and all Carpathian male. Antoinette is a beautiful, strong and courageous woman with a mind of her own. They have a great deal to overcome if they are to share eternity.

I wept and laughed right along with the characters. My heart burst with joy for them and feared for them. I was really absorbed into this book, almost to the point where reality disappeared and all that remained was the book. I was left feeling bereft and longing for more when it was finished. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone, even if this isn't your normal genre for reading. It is truly THAT good. I can't wait until the next in this series comes out.
