For Parents Only should be required reading! Not only does this book offer compassionate and penetrating insights into the minds of teenagers; it also provides parents with vital encouragement and comfort. Filled with relevant statistics and spiritual principles, these pages are a remarkable combination of thought-provoking and timeless truths.

The authors are also mothers, or as they describe themselves, "sometimes-bewildered parents". Their genuine desire to understand the emotional dynamics of teenagers serves as the motivating force behind the writing of this book. Most noteworthy is the fact that these women went to the source for their data. That's right-they went to teens, asking questions and carefully analyzing their answers. Some of the results may be surprising, but all of the data is instructional and eye-opening.

A conversational tone offers the reader a comfortable seat alongside these women, as they systematically examine topics like peer pressure, responsibility and the conflicting feelings of independence. Each subject features the poll results of more than 1000 teens on a graph, as well as some actual comments made by the respondents. The authors sensitively present clarifications and observations of this data, making this information pertinent to today's parents.

Besides being instructional, this book is a blessed encouragement to anyone who has a teenager in their lives. Any reader who may be perplexed at the seemingly illogical mood swings or the apparent rebellious streak that characterizes this age group will be comforted by these sane explanations. I never thought I would ever say this, but I would be willing to sell this book door-to-door!

For Parents Only has the potential to bring a new level of peace and understanding to every home.
