Drew Cooper has a hard earned Ph.D. in English Literature and is very proud of it. She considers science fiction as nonsense until her sister Tiffani forces her to meet Max, a well-known science fiction author. Drew is drawn towards Max even though she knows Tiffani is interested in him. She is in enough trouble as it is; getting threatening notes, marked photographs and being spied at. Yet Drew cannot forget about Max. Can she get over past hurts and present problems to love Max?
Maxfield Sinclair is very handsome like the hero of his science fiction books Captain McNeill. But he is vulnerable and extremely naïve in the ways of women unlike Captain McNeill. When he encounters Drew, there are literally explosions. He saves Drew’s niece from a gunshot by an obsessive fan. He is completely captivated by Drew but doesn’t want to get hurt again. Gradually he starts caring deeply about Drew and wants her for the rest of his life. But Drew doesn’t seem to return his feelings. Also, she seems to be in some kind of trouble. Can Max stake it all to secure all he ever wanted?
Ellen Fisher’s All I Ever Wanted is amusing, amazing and awe-inspiring. The story about 2 people who do not want to get hurt again melted my heart. The vulnerability of the main characters makes them authentic and absolutely genuine. The passion between Max and Drew is as sweet as honey and as spicy as cinnamon. The twists and turns in the story are an unexpected bonus and make it a thrilling page-turner. Ellen has admirably created a terrific romantic experience.
All I Ever Wanted has everything you ever wanted in a romance novel.

Cordelia Ashton's desire to only marry for love has made her determined to forever remain a spinster. She finds it difficult to believe she could ever find a man to love enough to marry, no matter how many suitors her father places in her path. That is, until she meets the infuriating Gwaltney.
Gwaltney Harris has felt alone for a long time. As a the son of a wheelright and a longhunter - hunters who went out to the western frontier who made money in deer skins and fur - who has spent many years alone. But that is not the source of his loneliness. He's lonely because he is shunned by aristocratic society. Men who earned their livings with their hands have long been considered inferior. Gwaltney's one true friend, Jonathan Powell, believes that now that Gwaltney is rich, he should be able to find a suitable bride. This bride should gain Gwaltney entrance into society.
For reasons not clear to Gwaltney, Jonathan highly recommends he court Cordelia Ashton. With his own eyes, Gwaltney discovers Cordelia's reputation as a shrew, leaves nothing to the imagination. Surprisingly, despite Cordelia's sharp-tongue and drab wear, Gwaltney is fascinated by her, and plans to continue courting her, much to her dismay.
In this compelling historical, readers will quickly find out that Gwaltney gives as good as he gets. Gwaltney and Cordelia make a fine match. When Gwaltney tells Cordelia that he finds her intriguing, her reaction is quite humorous. She'd never thought to be speechless around a man. She reluctantly admits to herself that this man inspires some emotion in her, something she's not felt in over seven years.
There are many wonderful elements in Love Remembered. The character development is absolutely wonderful. Gwaltney is a man easily understood, but also a man who garners much compassion. Cordelia's shrewish behavior did worry me at first. But I imagined for a good love story, she'd have to soften up a bit eventually. Ms. Fisher is to be commended at the rate of transition for Cordelia. A surprising treat in this historical is the intrigue regarding a once-rejected suitor of Cordelia's. His reasons and actions were a nice addition to such a well-written story.
Ms. Fisher is an author to watch. I will keep an eye on her website, www.erols.com/ellenfisher, as I look forward to her upcoming works.
