Significant and soul-searching, this book is a compelling account of one man's quest for spiritual contentment. While Joseph Girzone has retired from the priesthood, he is actively working to restore a fulfilling faith among believers. His simple writing style explains complex theological concepts with a refreshing sense of excitement and joy.

This book is meant to explain the author's journey as he thoughtfully and logically develops his life's philosophy. The account is intensely personal, revealing thoughts and questions that shaped his mindset. His candid and progressive treatment of these issues may be shocking to some, while comforting others with universally honest inquiries. Even though he writes from a Catholic bias, readers from other denominations will find common ground for agreement, although some may encourage him to reconsider his position on a couple of subjects. However, it's especially noteworthy that the author is never dogmatic; rather, he pursues his readers with careful reflections motivated by a sincere desire for truth.

These pages resonate with the deep love Joseph Girzone has for God and His people. In a stunning connection with his readers, the author seems to sits beside them, offering a platter of his choicest theological tidbits. His doubts and confusion will endear him to his audience as his soul is literally poured out in humble piety. As he develops a more intimate relationship with God, he holds out his hand for others to join him on this wonderful adventure. Whether he is discussing controversial issues like celibacy or confession, or seeking a closer encounter with the risen Christ, each word of this book propels readers into a level of truth that is not ordinarily entered.
