As a mother of three who's never bought, much less used, any flashcards or any of the so-called educational toys, I've had many doubts as to the veracity of my decision, especially now that my oldest will be entering kindergarten. Needless to say when Einstein Never Used Flash Cards landed on my desk to review I was thrilled. This book banished all my doubts while showing exactly how children learn.

Drawing upon years of research, not to mention their own parenting, Kathy and Roberta dispel educational myths; explain the science behind the myths and how children really learn. In addition they give ideas to discovering hidden skills children learn at certain ages. Their ideas for incorporating learning opportunities into playtime without it becoming a chore foster a love of learning within the child. And opens pathways for future discussions and parent-child bonds.

This is one book I can't stop recommending to my friends; I've already given away three copies. The insights into children's minds have also helped strengthen the bonds with my children. Einstein Never Used Flash Cards should be required reading for every parent, grandparent, and childcare professional, basically anyone who interacts with children.
