Sammy Kidman is a Dallas Narcotics Detective. He's irrepressible, irresistible and some would say irresponsible.

When Marni Taylor first met her new neighbor, a red flag went up. He looked like trouble, but he sure was handsome. After finding out he was working undercover, Marni agrees to help him in an assignment. Yet, when Sammy's brutal actions betray her trust, Marni was left traumatized and in tears. How could she possibly forgive him?

Now this is where the story gets intensely interesting. Marni is a Christian. When her entire world was rocked, she turned to the true Anchor, her Savior, Jesus. The author let Marni pour out her fear and anger, and didn't try to diminish the intensity of these emotions. When Marni turned the matter over to the Lord, the reader was not subjected to some pious platitudes, but instead, saw Christianity in action. Marni didn't magically get over her grief, but instead, took the Hand of the Lord and slowly started to walk forward. This reviewer was impressed with this demonstration of real-life Christianity.

Sammy also goes through a change in the story. At one point, he tells Marni he wants to get right with God and goes to church with her. Readers will follow him as he searches for the truth. The author has done a superb job of showing the value of authentic Christianity in our world today.

After reading this book, this reviewer is convinced that the author genuinely cares about her readers. She has crafted a story that can have eternal significance for every reader. Those who are already Christians will appreciate the honesty of the characters. Also adding to the genuineness of the story, is the depiction of the joys of physical love in a marriage situation. The Song of Solomon is found in the Bible, and author Robin Hardy reminds readers of this precious gift of the Lord.

This reviewer had two regrets after reading this book. The first is that I didn't read Book One of the Sammy series, titled: Sammy Dallas Detective. My second regret is that the next book isn't due out until July 2004! That one is titled: Sammy Working for a Living.

Author Robin Hardy has a new fan in this reviewer! Sammy Women Troubles was an absolute delight to read. She has created a main character that is sassy, brassy and just plain classy! Sammy is every woman's dream and then some. His wife, Marni, is the ideal complement, and together they form a dynamic duo, exploding with passion and purpose.

Yet, the passion they have is not just for themselves and their work, but the main characters are Christians who live their lives of faith in a real world, with real people and situations. The author gets a big round of applause for creating believable Christian characters that interact with the world around them with genuine emotions and actions. This book doesn't portray holier-than-thou characters, but instead shows matter-of-fact situations and a Christian's response to them.

Sammy Kidman is a Dallas police detective who takes a special undercover assignment. While he poses as a chauffeur to a wealthy Dallas family, his wife takes the job of maid. They are looking to discover some fraud in the art world, but before they get their answers, the investigation takes a perilous and peculiar turn. Readers will hold their breath as this daring and darling couple battle the bad guys with fearless faith.

Author Robin Hardy has made a mark in Christian fiction with this book. Instead of putting characters in a Christian setting, she has put Christian characters in a real-life setting. The result lends itself to a more realistic plot line and dialogue.

Sammy Women Troubles is the perfect solution for anyone looking for a book filled with faith, fun and a first-class leading man!
