Three years ago she had sent him to jail and now he was out. She loved him and deep in her heart didn't believe he was responsible for robbing the convenience store, but surveillance tapes don't lie and the person in the video was wearing his helmet and jacket. She felt guilty at the time and still felt guilt even to this very day. Seeing him again made all the memories coming rushing back.

Lisa Shadd was totally unprepared for her reaction at seeing Deacon Campbell again. She still loved him, but her strict moral code had made her tell the truth three years ago. Would she ever be able to get over her guilt?

It was hard being a convicted criminal in a small town like St. Mary's. Everyone knew him, knew he had been convicted, and nobody was willing to take a chance on hiring a thief. With his bad boy exterior and motorcycle, it was easy to see why no one bothered to give him a second chance. So why was he so determined to make a future for himself here?

Deacon couldn't have been more surprised at Doug Shadd's job offer. Granted, the man wasn't taking any chances and had a surveillance camera installed, but that was easily taken care of and this job did offer him a chance to do what he loved best: landscaping. Now he only had to get used to seeing the woman he loved every day, the same woman who had sent him to prison.

Getting used to Deacon's presence took some getting used to, but it was well worth it. Lisa couldn't deny they made a good team. Her feelings for Deacon were confusing. She desired him, believed in him, so why was it so hard to admit that? Add the crazy things happening in her house: items going missing, her sister's increasing odd behavior and the prank calls and it's no wonder she's not sleeping at night.

Is it possible for two people to make a future together after an innocent mistake ruined their happiness in the past? What happens when the crazy and unexplained things at Lisa's house increase? Will she discover the perpetrator's identity before he or she ruins her chance at a happily-ever-after?

An edge-of-your seat, can't put down novel, Convicted is one of the best romantic suspense novels I have read in a long time. Ms. Hart does a fantastic job hiding the identity of the villain until the last minute and when the villain is finally revealed, you realize the clues were there all along but you weren't able to see the connection. One thing that makes Convicted a must read, is Lisa and Deacon's history: they have to resolve it to move forward, but resolving it could send them farther apart. Don't miss this amazing novel from the very talented Megan Hart.

If the rest of Ms. Hart's novels are anything like Dream Upon Waking, they are sure to be a treat and one that I will not be missing. Very highly recommended.
