Mel wanted more than a companion; she wanted a master. A vampire master who made her submit, made her wish to submit above all else. Problem was since she became a vampire she'd yet to find any man, vampire or human who could hold her interest for more than a few weeks. Most were too threatened by her strong nature. There were rumors of one vampire master who might be all she was looking for, Zigor. But Zigor chose his lovers and hadn't taken one in quite a while. Even if he refused her, she had to take the chance. She gave her name to Zigor's go-between and waited to see what would happen.
Will Zigor accept Mel for the night? Is he the male she's been waiting for, the one strong enough to dominate her?
Kate Hill's latest novel, Vampire Master, is the start of a magnificent new series that promises to be a scorcher. I really enjoyed Vampire Master, as it shows a different side of bondage/submission. Most novels feature an alpha male/female with a beta male/female; it's rare to find an alpha with an alpha. There is a fine line to be walked when penning a tale with two alphas and Ms. Hill walks it with intensity and understanding. Mel eventually submits to Zigor's demands not because he forces her to, but because he proves and wins her submission, teaching her submission is also a strength. In return, she opens Zigor's heart and shows him how much he will receive by letting her share his life.
The perfect blend of sensuality, bloodlust and domination, Blood and Soul: Vampire Master is a must read.

Ivy went with her friend Rose to the theater to see Rose's friend, Jacob, perform Macbeth. From the moment Ivy heard the sound of this handsome man's deep sensual voice and felt his soulful performance she was mesmerized. Every thing else and every one else in the theater disappeared for Ivy until it was just this sensual man who wore black, who spoke in black and her.
Ivy was a vampire and didn't believe in love at first sight. Sure, it might have happened to her friend Rose...but not for her. Rose wanted Ivy and Jacob to meet, believing that they were destined to be together. Will Ivy be able to tell Jacob what she really is? But Jacob had a secret of his own that could be harmful to Ivy and her fellow Vampires. Will Ivy and Jacob be able to find a way to be together despite the odds stacked against them?
In Black by Kate Hill is a quick sensuous story of love at first sight. Ms. Hill creates believable plots and strong, likeable characters that you will love. This is a wonderful story, especially for those readers who love vampire romances. I gladly recommend In Black by the talented author Kate Hill.
