The vampire lord has come for Marie and still she won't give into him. Then when it seemed that there would be an impasse, he tells her of his love for her. This game of Vampire Lord and Lady had gone on for two years, and each time Marie has come to grown to love this game with Charles, her vampire, her love who sought to destroy wickedness. When he leaves her, he finds trouble and gets harmed by silver bullets from mortal Hunters, who often don't care if the vampire is good or not.

Help comes to Charles by way of his master, Zigor. Yet things happen for a reason. Charles has been scarred by the silver bullets and since vampires can't have plastic surgery, the scars are for good. Feeling that Marie won't accept him like this, he has his master tell her that he was killed. He refuses and gives Charles three months to get a hold of himself. After three months, he still feels that she's best without him, even though all of his vampire friends disagree, including Zigor and Zigor's girl friend, Melinda. When Zigor tells him about the masquerade party he's going to be having, Charles hopes to have one more time with Marie so he can walk away.

Yet, things aren't easy or what they seem. Can Charles get over the fact that he's now flawed and stop worrying if Marie will accept him scarred or not?

Kate Hill has sent me over the edge in this vampire universe of hers. I love Charles, Zigor, Melinda, and the rest. Beyond the norm, this erotic story has deep worldbuilding that pulls you in and keeps you reading. This story has heart, soul, and a message that's not hard to miss. Each of us might not think much of ourselves, but to those who love us, we're special and beautiful. The physical package matters little when it's the entire package, including what makes us us that truly matters. This story is one I won't easily forget as I consider it the Phantom of the Opera of the Vampire world. Truly unique and wondrous. Bravo to Kate Hill for this wonderful, touching story.

Seraphim, an Immaculate vampire, was working undercover for the Network (a vampire governing organization) at Sir Edward Race's mansion. Sir Edward catered to vampires (immaculate or hybrid) providing them the place to find nourishment and women to satisfy their every dirty need or want.

Seraphim was there to find out if Sir Edward had the legendary Flower, a plant the Originals had to nourish themselves instead of taking from humans. When Seraphim saw an erotic dancer he was bewitched and enthralled. This beautiful woman brought back memories of someone he knew long ago. Seraphim decided to buy her for the night and found out she was beautiful, sexy and hiding many secrets. Would he be willing to help her? Will she be able to help him get over a love he lost centuries ago?

As time goes by Seraphim's assignment gets more dangerous. His old nemesis and another agent are brought in to help complete the assignment. The tension is mounting. Seraphim has his own secrets that he has been keeping. Will he be able to finish this assignment without getting killed? Without having to give up his secrets? And what about his new partner? Will they be able to keep from hurting each other over a few thousand year rift? Will "the Flower" be found before it's too late?

Deep Red by Kate Hill is one extremely exciting story filled with action, adventure, romance and sizzling sex. All that any reader could want in a story. The hero is a tortured man that you just want to take somewhere safe, hold him and love forever. He is also very strong and honorable. The heroine is someone you have to admire for being strong, caring and able to take everything dished to her. Surprisingly this story has two sets of people finding that special one to love forever. The secondary love story in no way distracts you from the first love story but enhances the overall story more. This is one of Kate Hill's best stories to date I have read and one I highly recommend. Pick up your copy of Deep Red today and while you are there check out the other wonderful stories written by author Kate Hill.
