Mr. Inside pulls readers within the holy place that reveals the heart of God. This fictional story resonates with reality, as the main character struggles to see a loving and merciful God in a world blinded by hate and violence.
When Gustov Miller's missionary parents were brutally slaughtered by a Kenyan witchdoctor, this young boy's heart sealed up his sadness with a scar of indifference and disbelief. As an adult, he started his own company, Lost and Found International, in which he successfully uncovered ancient mysteries and unique treasures. As the owner of this organization, he provided the research and an uncanny ability to ferret out the facts. He never left his home, which doubled as his office, and instead, left all the "leg work" to his two trusted assistants. This arrangement worked fine until the day his employees needed more than a finger pointing them in the right direction.
This story line is brilliant, highlighting some basic truths about Christianity in a genuine way. In the opening pages, the author pits the forces of good and evil together, allowing the evil to triumph in all its wicked glory. Readers follow the life of Gustov as he tries to grasp the pointlessness of his parents' murder. After he decides to deny God, he sets himself up as a mini-god in his own business, orchestrating the moves of his assistants to bring out his desired goals. Yet, it's love that causes him to leave his place of safety and walk beside them in a dangerous situation.
In these pages, the Gospel message is presented within a thrilling adventure story. The character of Gustov will resonant with readers because of his honesty as well as his anger. His views of the world and of God give voice to questions that are asked every day by people. In a very creative and compelling way, the author sets up a seemingly impossible situation, only to break it down to its common denominator-love. The plot is fast-paced, offering moments of sighs and gasps. Danger and deception provide a strong contrast to truth and love.
Mr. Inside shows the reality of God walking beside us.
