Seven years ago, Major Derek Lange had fallen in love but believed the object of his affection nineteen year-old Raven Hathaway would be better off with someone younger and less battle-scarred. Breaking her heart was the hardest thing he had ever done, but he convinced himself it was for the best. So why was he unable to get her out of his head and heart years later? Granted, his feelings were going to make his current assignment difficult. According to recent photographs Raven was consorting with a known terrorist and his superiors wanted her brought back to the States to be tried for treason. Extracting Raven would be hard even with a full team, but to do it alone?
Getting into Sheik Mohammed Al Ben Aziz' palace was easier than he thought, due in part o the lax security measures. Convincing Raven to come peacefully was going to be an entirely different story.
She knew someone was in her room; she just didn't expect it to be the love of her life. Just why was he here? He couldn't be her contact, telling her the mission was over, could he? The moment she tells him he is early and he stares at her in confusion, Raven knows exactly who is behind her extraction. Senator Warren and General Miller. Ever since she had given her CIA superiors evidence showing exactly how un-patriotic the two were, they'd tried to recruit her. Their sending Derek meant they were finally making their move.
Derek had expected Raven to act entirely different when they met again; but learning Raven was CIA was completely out of his expectations. Doubts and questions begin to creep into his mind regarding his so-called mission. Doubts or not, he was still a major in the Marine Corps and he was going to complete this mission. Sheik Mohammed's untimely visit to Raven's quarters completely altered his escape plan.
Now they have no choice but cross the desert and slip across the border into Turkey. And that will not be any easy journey. No matter how bad the Sheik may have been, his son was a hundred times worse and he has mobilized his entire army to comb the desert for Derek and Raven. Throw in the fact they have limited rations, their feelings for each other, and Raven's inexperience at roughing it and they may not make it out alive.
Will they survive the challenges the desert presents and resolve their feelings for each other? Or will they fall before the desert's might?
A long time fan of J.M. Jeffries, I knew I would enjoy Code Name: Diva; I just didn't know how much. Derek and Raven are so different from their previous characters. They still possess the stubbornness and strong nature; they're just more complex, dimensional and alive. They have a definite history and even though it's been years since they've seen each other, time hasn't had an effect on those feelings. To survive, they have to work together...just ignoring their feelings isn't possible and this brings an added depth to the storyline. Ms. Jeffries continues to improve with every novel and I'm really looking forward to more from her. Don't miss.

Lily Alexander had been through hell and lived to tell her story. Twelve years before she had been kidnapped and forced to serve her captor. Miraculously, she escaped and her testimony put the man responsible in prison. This one event changed her life forever. Her lifetime battle with agoraphobia (the fear of being outdoors) became worse and her greatest supporters were her parents. But now, even they were gone, murdered by her abductor Joe Sawyer and she couldn't prove he was still after her.
Marco Jackson liked working in the Cold Case Unit. A fan of puzzles, he liked being able to devote as much of his time as he wanted to solve crimes. At his supervisor's insistence he went to visit Lily, hoping she would be able to help him with his current case. When he arrives, he is shocked to learn she won't help him mainly because he's not there to work on her parents' case. Thrown out of her home, he returns to work and pulls out the file on the Alexander case. As he reads, he realizes the murder is too textbook, too perfect and he was going to solve it. His instantaneous attraction to Lily had no bearing whatsoever on his decision, at least that's what he told himself.
Not long after Marco leaves Lily receives a package containing a human heart and a threatening note. She knows it's from Sawyer even though there is no proof. In rides her knight in shining armor on a Harley and accompanied by a Great Dane named Harley. Lily tries to fight, but the terror that haunted her has returned and she knows she needs help. But is it his help and protection that Lily wants or his love?
As Sawyer becomes more bold and his stalking more terrifying, Marco and Lily become closer. Instinctively, they both know Sawyer won't give up until Lily's dead, but how do you catch a killer who is able to cover his tracks perfectly?
Another winner from the gifted J.M. Jeffries. I've always been a fan of their light romances, but it's in romantic suspense that their gift shines beautifully. Marco and Lily are wonderful characters, full of vibrancy, emotion and dimension. The suspense is constantly building, layer upon layer, leaving the reader on the edge of their seat, hoping the villain will get what he deserves and the hero and heroine have a happy ending.
I must admit that within the first few chapters, I was hooked. Not only was A Dangerous Obsession a great story, but both Lily and Marco are huge X-Men fans. How can you resist a novel like that? Don't miss this spectacular novel.
