Do you dread the thought of spending time in your kitchen? Have you resigned yourself to feeling alienated and longing for a sense of comfort? Then Witch in the Kitchen by Cait Johnson is for you.
In her latest book, author Cait Johnson shows us how to reclaim our kitchens and reconnect with our ancestors. Divided into five sections, the first gives ideas for reclaiming our kitchen, cleaning ideas, and making a spot just for us. The other four sections are dedicated to the seasons; each with ideas specifically geared to bringing the magic of the season into the kitchen. From simple decoration tips to meditation and spells to delicious vegetarian recipes, every thing is geared to make your time in the kitchen enjoyable.
As someone who loves to cook, I didn't always find it enjoyable or even want to be in my kitchen. When I was given Witch in the Kitchen I was intrigued. Ms. Johnson's ideas and suggestions were inexpensive and can take as little or as much time as you like. The recipes are just as easy as her suggestions and are absolutely delicious. My boys certainly enjoyed them. Even if you aren't a fan of kitchen witchery, Ms. Johnson's ideas and writing are such that anyone can put to use and enjoy. I highly recommend it.
