A Form of Godliness certainly isn't lacking in power!

Set in post-9/11 America, readers will be taken into the near-distant future for a close-up look at the consequences of current political and religious decisions. Matthew Bridger, president of the United States, is facing a nation which has turned its face from God. As he courageously tries to steer the nation on a course of moral right, political enemies thwart his every move. Brian Lawe, a Secret Service agent, and his girlfriend, Karen Foley, a Christian activist, each attempt to live their lives and do their jobs in an increasingly dangerous world. As the tension and uncertainty escalates, everyone must decide on a course of action based on their own beliefs.

This book is dedicated to George W. Bush and depicts the presidency with the respect that office holds. It also shows the frustrations and limitations of that position when the American people refuse to follow their elected leader. Matthew Bridger is a Christian president who believes in the truth of God's Word, not only for this nation, but for Israel as well. There is a strong pro-Israel message in this book, which has a clear foundation in Scripture.

In fact, this book is filled with Biblical truths, as well as the consequences of not adhering to them. The author follows some of the current political decisions to possible and logical conclusions. The country is shown in a state of violence, greed and deception. Fetal research for profit, terrorist threats, nuclear blasts, and increased demonic activity claim not only lives, but rob people of their faith.

This reviewer applauds the author for tackling some of the more controversial topics of our day. This book will definitely encourage careful thought of these issues, and hopefully a positive action. The points of view shifts from the various characters, allowing readers to get a more complete view of this story. A helpful list of the characters is included at the front of the book.

While the events portrayed are chilling and intense, the author has not left his readers comfortless. He has provided hope in the middle of heartache. Solid Bible teaching along with the author's imagination has created a book with prophetic perception. The ending is climactic, yet readers will be happy to learn that this faith-filled journey will continue in a sequel due out in 2005.

A Form of Godliness is the face of the future, with a promise of hope from the past.
