In a beautiful place called Peaceful Valley live a variety of animals. Everyone is happy and safe as their home is protected by an eagle, Blue Eagle. One morning, Sammy Squirrel is out playing and comments that Toby Turple moves too slow. Little does Sammy anticipate how Toby will help him out of a jam.

In the mountain range bordering Peaceful Valley lives a mean old cougar, Clugar. Clugar heads into the valley, hoping to find an easy meal. When Pete Rabbit proves to be too fast, Clugar turns his attention to small Sammy.

Trapped out on a limb, with nowhere to go, Sammy must trust his friends to get Blue Eagle before it is too late.

Written in rhyming verse, The Ballad of Blue Eagle teaches the importance of being nice to thers and repecting the differences that make everyone unique. While some adults might be put off by the rhyming verse, children love it. My children were spellbound by the lilting cadence, not at all fidgety or wiggly. The colorful illustrations kept my youngest happy and the entire family was able to spend quality time together.

For a special treat, day or night, pick up The Ballad of Blue Eagle.
