Raised by her uncle Alexi, Brianna would do anything to make him happy, so when he asked her to promise to visit his homeland, more specifically the Ural Mountains she didn't hesitate to give her word. Which would explain why she was in the Ural Mountains in the winter. Brianna found the region breathtaking but something about the old growth forests they were exploring made her feel hunted. She couldn't explain why she felt that way, she just knew something was out there. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't see the root, tripped on, fell off the path into a ravine and hit her head. The last thing she remembered hearing was the mournful cry of a wolf.

Ever since she set foot in the forest, Ivan had wanted her. Something about Brianna called to him and instinctively he knew she was his mate. Watching her fall into the ravine had him in a state of panic, even worse was seeing her lying still at the bottom. Thankfully, she suffered only a mild concussion and he brought her back to his home deeper in the forest. He managed to restrain himself and give her the time necessary for complete healing, even though his every instinct protested at the wait.

Brianna couldn't believe she was stuck in Russia. The snow had piled so high while she was recuperating in Ivan's cabin there was no way for him to take her to the nearest village. She didn't really mind though. Ivan was wonderful and they settled into an easy camaraderie, despite the deep sexual attraction they both felt. Somewhere along the way, she admitted to herself, she had fallen in love with Ivan. Fallen so hard and so deep, she was willing to give up her life in America just to be with him.

But Ivan is no mere human. He's so much more. When the full moon rises and Ivan tells Brianna the whole truth, will their newfound love survive?

Sherri L. King never ceases to amaze and enthrall me with her writing and Moon Lust is no exception. I was blown away by the level of sensuality and emotion in this novella. Ivan and Brianna care deeply for one another, their love is never in doubt. What makes Moon Lust stand out, in my opinion, is Brianna's reaction. She doesn't want to believe he's anything less (or more) than human and her inner struggle to accept the truth and Ivan is very realistic. I couldn't help but feel for her and Ivan as they met this challenge. I highly recommend Moon Lust and have placed Sherri L. King on my (rather short) list of auto-buy authors.

Adrian Darkwood was an alpha werewolf and destined to rule his pack. Wanting to find a way to integrate werewolves in a world that didn't know they existed he had accepted a job that allowed him to travel the world and seek out other packs. He'd made his way to Scotland and he knew from the moment he stepped into the woods surrounding the little town of Applecress, this was the place he'd been looking for his entire life. The place where werewolves were born.

Mona Kincaid had always been more of a canine person. For the most part she enjoyed her life as a dog trainer, even though it kept her isolated. One day she receives a phone call from an August Finn who informed her of her paternal grandmother's death. Having been told her entire life her grandparents were crazy and granted their belief in werewolves and the like sort of confirmed it, she was nevertheless sad to learn of her grandmother's death. But there was no way in the world she was going to leave her home and journey to Applecress, Scotland to ensure peace between the local werewolf pack and the villagers. So why was she on a plane two hours later?

Mona doesn't really want to be in Scotland, but she can't deny the fact some part of her felt at home here. While she still doesn't believe she's the only one who can keep some mystical gruenwalt from breaking, she agrees to try to help. Walking in the woods later that night, she hears howling and is attacked by a wolf and manages to escape with the help of another wolf. What in the world was going on?

Adrian knew from the moment he laid eyes on her, Mona was his mate. No doubt about it and even with the problem between the weres and the villagers, he was going to make her his. He just had to win her trust, something easier said than done.

Mona didn't want to give into her feelings, especially not to some arrogant stranger who acted just as freaky as the people in the village. Yet would giving into the passion between her and Adrian really be such a bad thing? It could be so fun and definitely unforgettable.

Will Adrian claim his mate before the local pack tries to kill her? Will they be able to solve the problem between the pack and the villagers and ensure the gruenwalt remains in place?

Ms. King is talented beyond measure. Feral Heat has great descriptions and word choices, creating visible pictures. Mona and Adrian have an undeniable and very enviable level of passion between them; the reader is caught up in the maelstrom of emotions they exude. I've completely enjoyed the world of Ms. King's Moon Lust series. Don't miss.
