Neither Sand Nor Sea is an emotion tale of one woman's journey to discover what she wants from life and finding the courage to believe in love.
A talented interior designer, Carla Montgomery was ready for bigger projects. Assigned to the new Rolling Hills project, she was determined to do an outstanding job. Above all, she is determined to follow her boss' advice and maintain a purely professional relationship with the handsome, sweet-talking Julian Swann, head of the development project. She didn't count on Julian's determination.
Despite her boss' warning and her own intentions, Carla falls for Julian and enters a relationship with him. She convinces herself it's okay because he's in the process of divorcing his wife. Time passes and she realizes she made a mistake and ends things with him. Will her once perfect life ever be the same?
Several months later, still not completely over Julian, she takes a friend's place on a unique cruise as a favor. Amidst the note taking and island exploring, she meets and falls in love with the cruise ship's captain, Erik Andreasson. Her past experience with Julian has left her wary. Will her past destroy her future happiness?
Neither Sand Nor Sea is one of the few novels that demands you clear your schedule before reading. Trust me, once you start reading this book, you'll not want to stop. Kubik pens an emotionally charged, familiar tale with a relatable heroine. Carla's problems and reactions are so human, you expect to bump into her or invite her over for tea. Her emotional turmoil is an exquisite agony and you desperately hope she has a happy ending.
Taut, intriguing and hard to put down, Neither Sand Nor Sea is the perfect book for slow, lazy nights.
