Richard Land goes where most evangelical leaders dare to tread- the mind of a liberal. In this extraordinary book, he examines the thinking that separates liberals and conservatives, while honestly addressing the flawed logic on either side. Readers will thoroughly understand the issues because the author is not afraid to dissect the conflicting mindsets. In fact, his conclusion is that both positions are wrong and dangerous to our country. Yet, the author proves his opinion with a wealth of research and some good old-fashioned logic.
This book is more than a breath of fresh air; it's better described as a tornado that seeks to clear the air once and for all. Without ever losing sight of the emotional aspect of this battle, Dr. Land presents a well-researched book that appeals to the intellect and cries for more reasonable responses. He calls our current cultural impasse a shouting match, and presents ways to rethink the issues in the light of reason and truth.
As he tackles such volatile subjects as the separation of church and state and God's place in America, readers will learn facts that may have been distorted in the heat of battle. The back of the book features appendices and notes that bolster the author's remarks and encourage further study. In a remarkable position of fair play, Dr. Land critiques his own conservative side, while offering a fresh new perspective on these hotly argued subjects.
Enthusiastically written, these pages immediately pull the reader into the arena of ideas. Emotionally powerful, yet educationally enlightening, this book seeks a united front for our divided country. Read these words carefully; it's not often that an author clarifies these viewpoints with a healthy dose of honesty and compassion.
