Watcher in the Woods puts readers in the eye of the suspense. As the King family struggles against the secrets of their old house, the tension increases when a stranger takes steps to take over their home. When the doors of opportunity slam one after another, Xander and David take risks that puts them in places that not even their nightmares imagined!

If you read the first book in this series and have opened the second one, I applaud your thirst for adventure. Robert Liparulo knows how to weave a tale that is filled with fright. The hidden passageways in this old house, combined with hints of a sinister past and secrets too dark to be revealed, make this story explode in a thousand shudders. The pacing is quick, moving the characters along at a speed that will literally leave readers breathless.

Yet, at the heart of the novel is an emotional core that beats in a steady rhythm. The King children are frantically searching for their mother who was led captive behind a closed door. In an ordinary house that wouldn't be a problem, but here, the doors open to other worlds and times. Each portal has its own set of problems but also the potential for finding their mother. If they can survive the terrors of the time zones they enter, they may save mom; if not, the void of eternity looms with vengeance.

The emotional element in this novel makes the suspense meaningful. Each page is like a doorknob, turning to reveal either hope or a horrifying terror. Yet, the very last words of this book will open readers' eyes to an end that is only beginning. Keep 'em coming, Robert Liparulo!
