Ever wondered why Capricorn, Taurus and Sagittarius are known as the earth signs of the zodiac? Or why some people are said to have a fiery temperament? Author Debra Lipp explains in The Way of Four. Delving into the history of the elements from Celtic, Greece, Hindu and even Western occultism. Yet The Way of Four is more than a history of the elements, it shows how to achieve balance using knowledge of the elements and your own elemental make-up.

Through a series of fun quizzes, you'll learn your elemental make-up and learn how to apply what you've learned in your daily life, work, decorating, cooking, every aspect of your life. By knowing how the elements rank in your personality and beliefs, it is easier to achieve balance or realize areas of your life that need work. Lipp utilizes the Tarot, astrological correspondences and provides exercises to acquaint yourself with the elements. Her exercises allow you to fully experience the elements. They range from simple cloud watching (Air) to building a cairn (Earth). All of the exercises are designed for one purpose: to acquaint you with the elements and learn to recognize how they are separate yet work together.

This was one book I couldn't put down. It was fun, interesting, interactive and the exercises were informative and enjoyable. The main reason I've already recommended and given away copies of The Way of Four is its practicality and ease of use. Beginners can pick up this book and not feel overwhelmed. Even longtime practioners will find the book enjoyable and learn something from it.
