With the use of both photographs and illustrations, this dictionary provides over 600 colorful pictures to detail many of the 4,000 plus definitions. The thesaurus is included in a separate section at the end of the book and lists over 5,000 entries. The definitions themselves are detailed, using words young children will understand. The paper used for the book is heavy, being able to stand up to repeated look-ups, and the $12.95 price is an excellent value for such a comprehensive and informative dictionary/thesaurus. I, for one, am greatly impressed, and know my children will get much use from this user-friendly dictionary and thesaurus. Return to top of page.
