Derek Knight, an FBI agent, is trying to retrieve an envelope. He discovers the rental car where the envelope is said to be is the wrong car! He's got to stop a woman going to her rental car. Will she believe him? Will she hand over the envelope? Nothing is that simple, as Derek soon finds out
Reese Hampton flirts with the idea of the sexy fantasy man she sees in a garage after a lousy flight - chocolate eyes, shoulders as wide as the Grand Canyon, and an air of danger. But, back to reality - she's being followed - by him. Reese is an investigative reporter, on a business trip, another boring trip at that. When she finds out what is in the envelope Derek Knight is desperate to retrieve, she plans on influencing him to working with her. If she can get dibs on the story she just found out, her career could go a long way. Can the two work together? A scoop? Quite the possibility, but as far as Reese is concerned, sex is definitely in the picture.
Derek and Reese are good for each other for more reasons than one. For starters, they both are unhappy with their jobs. Also, the attraction factor between these two is off the charts. The sexual tension between them is palpable, all while they are learning to trust one another. This trust affects not only the details of the case Derek is on, but the relationship that is slowly building.
Erin McCarthy is relatively new to Kensington Brava. Her first book, Bad Boys Online, is a delightful anthology with three novellas. Having enjoyed her previous title, I was quite pleased to read this humorous full-length novel. Ms. McCarthy has a flare with writing her characters, and this makes for a very enjoyable read. I also loved the pacing in Smart Mouth. While love is blooming between Derek and Reese, the situation that brought them together - the contents of the envelope - still has to be resolved. They get the bad guy, yes, but they also get each other.
If you want a read that will bring you pleasure, and make you sigh with contentment, then be sure to stop by your local bookstore and grab a copy of Smart Mouth.

Last year Lori Foster held a Brava novella contest. Erin McCarthy was not only the first winner, but she was the very first entrant. Is that impressive, or what? Several other authors have sold with Brava as a result of that contest. You may want to check out Lori Foster's website at www.lorifoster.com to see last year's other winners. There is another contest that just started. Don't miss it!
When you read Bad Boys Online, you'll quickly see why Ms. McCarthy was a winner. She brings us an erotic anthology sure to bring you to the very edge.
Hard Drive
Mack Stone has been fantasizing about workmate Kindra Hill for over a year. Walking into Kindra's office while she was engaging in cyber sex gave Mack the opening he needed to finally bring his fantasies to life.
Kindra is nearly mortified when the one man she has an intense crush on, Mack Stone, finds her reading a dirty email. When she quickly finds out that this gorgeous hunk is interested, very interested, her mortification turns to shock and pleasure.
Press Any Key
Jared Kincaid is forced to work closely on a project with Candy Appleton. Her name alone is partially responsible for his fantasies; add her beauty and her intelligence, and it is not hard to figure out why he tries to avoid her at all costs. It's been his personal experience that sex and the workplace don't mix.
Candy knows she was born with beauty and sex appeal. And she loves to flirt. Why doesn't Jared like her? It shouldn't bother her, but it does. For two months now, since she and Jared started working together, she's been lusting after him. He's been making her crazy.
Their boss, Harold, tries to resolve the tension in the office that exists between Jared and Candy.. What Harold doesn't realize is that it is sexual tension. Harold signs them up for online couples counseling. Imagine their shock!

In this great friends-to-lovers story, Halley Connors and Evan Barrett have been best friends for years. What neither of them know is that they are both burning a torch for the other. What will finally bring them together?
When Halley goes to work one morning, to the catering company she owns, she discovers that her website's been hacked. Afraid she'll lose business, she goes to Evan, a webmaster and a consultant, with hopes he can repair the damage. Will Evan fix more than her website?
While all the couples in Bad Boys Online, began to explore the difference between sex and love, each relationship finds a deeper bond. Each character is well-developed despite the length of each novella. In addition to that, not only are the sexual encounters hotter than hot in this anthology, Ms. McCarthy writes with a sharp wit that causes you to laugh, even while reading a hot, sexy scene. For example: Halley is crying. Evan comes into the room and asks her what's wrong. Perfume in her eyes, she says. He asks her again. She says, eyelash. He says, I thought you said perfume. Next line. "Was he writing this stuff down? Geez."
I have been eagerly waiting for this release. I was not disappointed and happily place Bad Boys Online on my keeper shelf. I will be visiting Ms. McCarthy's website - www.erinmccarthy.net - because I am eager to see the progress of this new author. Mark your calendars. Ms. McCarthy has a Brava single title that will be released in April, 2004, called Smart Mouth. I plan to be first in line.
