Tanzinite woman, wingless and wan
Nordai of Power, of twins, we warn
One path to doom, enslavement and walls
With unholy mating, Dair rises or falls

It is the above prophecy that affects the characters in Seraphine Chronicles Book I: Forbidden, by Cheyenne McCray.

Liana is a Tanzinite female who was banished from her people, because she was born without wings. She, along with her heart-sisters Tierra and Ranelle, was forced to live and work among humans. Liana's gift as a Seer is her means of support until she can escape. Liana has been promised to mate Zanden, who is a Nordain betrayer, and now an evil sorcerer. Liana has a short time to escape this mating. In the meantime, Liana is strongly attracted to a stranger, a forbidden one.

This dark stranger that so attracts Liana is Aric L'tiercel, King of the Nordain, Aric is bound to prevent the mating between Liana and Zanden by whatever means possible. He rescues Liana and then finds out his biggest fear - remaining in Liana's presence. She is forbidden. He is afraid he cannot resist her.

Liana and Aric demonstrate an amazing example of heartmates. It was Aric at first who realized this. He'll do anything to be with Liana forever, even if it means giving up his kingdom. Liana and Aric are from opposing worlds. Though they were forbidden to each other, their passions were impossible to resist. It is as if they were two halves from the same stone.

While safe in Aric's care from the evil sorcerer, Liana feels that, even though she loves Aric with every fiber of her being, she cannot allow him to give up his kingdom. So she flees Aric and is placed in immediate danger by Zanden's minions. She is again rescued and is bound to Aric as his queen. It is a dangerous time for them, yet, because Zanden is still on the loose. Liana has to deal with her past, and the fact that she has not seen her friends since her rescue. Liana's visions show her they may be in danger.

Forbidden was just the type of book to keep you turning pages. There are plenty of suspenseful elements here to keep your attention. The sensuality of this book is incredibly hot. The passion between Aric and Liana was very arousing, all the while, reading of the sensual Elves and their views on physical pleasures. Even with the Elvish influence, Aric and Liana remain completely devoted to each other. In Forbidden, you'll be left looking forward to the rest of this chronicle. It continues with Ranelle's story in Bewitched, available now, and Tierra's in Spellbound, May, by Ms. McCray.

Rancher Dee MacLeod is desperately in need of a man. She just happens to employ the best-looking wranglers in Arizona. So, maybe she should break one of her own rules about getting involved with her employees. She certainly has an itch she needs to scratch. Problem is: she can't get one sexy cowboy out of her mind.

Jake Reynolds walked away from Dee ten years ago. Her declaration of loved scared him enough to give up the only love he had in his life. Back in town, after a requested job transfer, Jake was certain Dee had found someone else and settled down by now. Once he realizes how wrong he was, both for leaving her, and thinking she was attached, he vies for the opportunity to try and prove he can win her heart again.

For Jake, it is easy. He wants Dee. In his bed. In his life. What about Dee? Will she ever trust Jake enough to let him back in? There's not one moment of doubt that she doesn't want him as much as he wants her. While it is undeniable that Jake and Dee are combustible together, does this mean Jake will stay? Will Dee want him to?

Wildfire explores the explosive passion between Jake and Dee. While we see their relationship evolve, we are also watching the drama of a bad case of rustling going on, which Jake is helping to investigate. I found when reading this that I wanted this to work. I wanted to see the passion between Jake and Dee explode. I looked forward to each and ever encounter between the two of them. I needed to see how long it would take for Dee to trust Jake. I'm pleased to say that I was not disappointed in any way. Wildfire is part of a series, to be followed by Wildcat and Wildcard. I am anxious to read the both of these the moment they are released.
