In this exciting novella by Cheyenne McCray, Seraphine Chronicles: Possessed, we are treated to another visit with the Seraphine Elves. Natalie and her friends, Miz and Kerry, are attending the "Out of this World" Convention. An annoyed Natalie agrees to visit one of the exhibits, a Virtual Reality Cave. The second Natalie enters the cave, the very air is different. For reasons she cannot understand, she finds herself in a race for her life, and is ultimately rescued by Devline Elvin Enforcer, Evvan. Quite naturally, Natalie doubts the reality of what is happening, as well as what Evvan tells her. With Evvan's many gifts, and something extremely unique about Natalie, she is about to face an unbelievable future. If you are a fan of the Seraphine Elves, this sensual installment is not to be missed.

When you put three very busy authors together in one anthology, you are bound to find something you like. How about all three stories? From the prologue that connects Natalie, Miz and Kerry, to a satisfying epilogue, Things that Go Bump in the Night III is a pleasure to read.

Darronn, King of Spades, thought that the attacks caused by his sister Mikaela were a thing of the past. The once barren kingdoms of Tarok have recently produced werecub twins to his brother Jarronn, King of Hearts, and his wife Queen Alice. While it is true no other children have been conceived, it was hoped that Mikaela's black reign of sorcery had ended. However, there are new attacks, mental attacks, being made on the kingdoms.

Darronn witnessed his twin Jarronn, select his queen from a select group of cards that the sorceress Kalina held out to them. Now, Darronn is forced to select his queen from the three remaining cards. Darronn wants a queen who will challenge him, a spitfire. Darronn's new queen will go a long way in helping to thwart Mikaela.

Alexi O'Brien has been enjoying a relaxing evening with her cousin, Annie. It had been awhile since Alexi had even been able to enjoy herself, as she has spent much of the past year trying to find her twin, Alice. As Alexi gets a bit tipsy, she thinks of the sex life she's been missing while looking for Alice. She tells Annie that she really would like to at least experience her bondage fantasy. Little does Alexi know....

Darronn is on the other side of a looking glass. It is time for him to bring his new queen home and to train her to become Queen of Spades. Part of her training will be the domination that is very much a part of his lifestyle. With shock and fear, Alexi finds herself pulled through a looking glass. One moment she is staring into the eyes of the most virile man she's ever seen, next she is being gently pounced upon by a tiger. What sort of nightmare is she in?

Darronn has his work cut out for him. He wanted a spunky one, and he got her. He immediately tells her he has captured her and that she is to call him Master. Alexi can never imagine calling a man Master, even if it is part of her fantasy. She is thoroughly agitated, but knows she is in no danger.

Just as Cheyenne McCray captured my immediate interest with Wonderland 1: King of Hearts, she has done the same with this one, Wonderland 2: King of Spades. Darronn and Alexi work together as a couple remarkably well. This book gives us more insight on the brothers and their need to dominate. However, Darronn is a man that uses compromise to his advantage. He never wanted to break Alexi, and it didn't take him long to find out how very different she is from her twin, Alice, and that what worked for Jarronn won't necessarily work for him. Alexi finds great happiness and pleasure with Darronn, but it is bittersweet at times, because of the void left by not finding Alice.

Another reason this book is such a pleasure is the fact that this world of Wonderland became a reality to Alice first, then Alexi. This goes a long way with the reader of Wonderland 2: King of Spades, because we get to enjoy that reality for a while. Quite naturally, I am more than eager to read the final two books in this series, Wonderland: King of Diamonds and Wonderland: King of Clubs. Be sure to visit Ms. McCray's website at www.cheyennemccray.com, if you want to read more about the Bondage Kings.
