She had taken this job for the simple reason that no one else wanted the all-expenses-paid trip because it would mean being overseas during the Christmas holidays. Candy didn't really mind being away during Christmas; being a Christmas baby it was hard to get excited about Christmas when nobody made a fuss over your birthday. She only regretted she would be alone on her birthday.

Determined to have fun, she called a cab and asked him to take her an antique auction. Even when the driver insisted it was no place for a woman, she ordered him to take her there. The moment she stepped inside the auction house, she knew the driver hadn't taken her to the right place. Instead of antiques, they were auctioning off people. She was horrified; did such things really take place in the 21st century? She had no intention of staying, let alone participating until one slave caught her eyes. He looked like a construction worker and when his eyes met hers, she knew she had to help him.

She owned a man, literally. Even worse, Brook, her purchase, was willing to do whatever she wanted just because he believed she owned him. How could she convince him she didn't want anything in return? Granted, she might lust after him, but there was no way she'd force him to do anything. He was a human being with a free will. So why did the thought of him returning with him to the states and then never seeing him again bring tears to her eyes?

Sensual and extremely erotic, All I Want for Christmas is also achingly sweet and heart-rending. Candy really had no idea slavery was still practiced and truly wanted to help Brooke. Brooke wasn't sure he could trust Candy, but he wanted to make her happy. Watching these two search for happiness while trying to work past the circumstances in which they had met was unforgettable. Ms. Morgen has always delivered a beautiful story and All I Want for Christmas is no exception.
