In Green Witchcraft, author Ann Moura brings her experience and heritage to the pages. The bits of personal history make this much more than an instruction manual in the ways of folk magic, fairy lore, and herb craft; it becomes an aid in the "Green" lifestyle.
The journey into the path of green magic begins with its history and a basic overview of the Sabbats, Esbats, and dedication rituals; all with geared toward green magic. Herbal lore is discussed in great detail (making it useful for other magical paths) as it forms the basis of the green path. Unlike other magical paths, here the focus is on communion with nature.
Magic practices, such as casting a circle, divination, and spellwork are discussed before the rituals. It is the tie to nature that sets these rituals apart from the others. Herbal blends and/or oils are just as important in this path as an athame or chalice. From wiccaning to passing into the summerland, rituals for every occasion abound.
For those looking to expand their knowledge of magic or searching for the right branch of Witchcraft, this book is for you. For myself, I felt more aware of nature after reading Green Witchcraft and incorporating elements was easy. My favorite parts of this book were the sections dedicated to the Sabbats. Ann Moura's suggestions for the different holidays were unique and pertinent. Nature in all her glory is honored and given her rightful due.
