In an effort to right past wrongs, Zeus and Hera turn to matchmaking. If the match is to be successful, they must pair a son of the gods with a descendant of one of Zeus' paramours.
Callie Gabriel grew up knowing that men and Gabriel women didn't mix. Manager of a trendy vegetarian restaurant and star of a cooking show, Callie had managed to avoid serious relationships. But that didn't stop her from falling for undercover FBI agent Armond Marceaux. Even though he choose his job over her, Callie knew that she had to let him know of her pregnancy. Deep with in her heart, she hoped he would choose to stay with her.
Dedicated to his job, Armond Marceaux never let anything or anyone under his skin. A complete embodiement of his ancestor Ares. He had left Callie, hoping she'd understand his reason, but something had gone wrong on his last mission. Armond had no memory of her or their night together.
Full of laughter and tender moments, The Warrior is wonderful. Sparkling with vibrant characters and vivid emotions, I found myself unable to put this book down. Callie is a strong heroine, yet vunerable. Her ongoing struggle to live up to family expectations is something we all face.
I especially enjoyed how Hera was portrayed. Instead of a spiteful, jealous, and bitter woman, we see another woman struggling with self-doubts. Finally, Hera is someone we can respect and even understand. An awesome read by a talented author.
