Patch is an industrious young porcupine. He is so handy; all of his friends say he can fix anything. One day, he sees a "help wanted" sign in the bike shop window. He applies for the job and is hired.
Patch is able to fix all of the bikes, until someone comes in with a flat tire. His quills keep puncturing the tire. Will his new job be over after just one day?
What a delightful story! Patch's perseverance and determination are great examples for kids. All of my children loved the story, especially the part where Patch dreams of coving himself in marshmallows to keep from puncturing the tires. Scott Nelson's illustrations are fun, bright and bring a smile to everyone's faces. A keeper!
