Throughout her winter hibernation Skunk has been dreaming of her friends and the fun they'll have when she awakes. But when she awakens, her friends are nowhere to be found. She searches throughout the forest, growing sadder with every passing minute and fearfully wondering if they grew tired of her smell. Finally, she heads to the pond for a drink, only to discover her friends have prepared a special surprise for her.
A charming tale of friendship and sharing, Skunk's Spring Surprise will bring a smile to both young and old. Newman's delightful story is greatly enhanced by Gorbachev's enchanting illustrations. One of my personal favorites.
