Ellora Cave's Twelve Quickies of Christmas kicks off with a touching story by Ashleigh Raine. Every day, for twelve consecutive days, a new story, by a different author, will be released.

In Angel in Moonlight, Lita doesn't hate her job as a Polgaren Pleasure goddess, she's just rather bored with it. She's craving emotions, the intrigue of strong human emotions. Lita approaches the Controllers in the High Chamber to request some time trying to understand human emotions. It almost seems as if her wish will be denied. However, Lita is granted one year, exactly one year, in a human dimension.

When Lita meets the enigmatic Ben Stanton, her skills as an empath come into play immediately. She is able to see that Ben is in despair, experiencing deep emotional pain. The connection and deep pull both Lita and Ben experience is amazing. Lita knows she must help Ben, all the while knowing that she must leave him soon. Will Lita save Ben, and leave her heart intact when she leaves?

Angel in Moonlight is a very deep, emotionally-captivating story. You will be riveted by what both Ben and Lita experience. It is rather heartbreaking when you see the type of connection these two make, and knowing there is a very severe time limit set for them. Ashleigh Raine pulls this story together nice and tight, leaving nothing undone. What a pleasure it was to read this delightful story.

Publisher's note: This book is loosely connected to the Talisman Bay series, but can be read as a stand-alone.
