Professor Elizabeth Gilstrom is at a very difficult place in her life. Her husband of ten years has left her for his much younger assistant. She feels devastated, betrayed and used. Boone McCrea is one of her graduate students. For far too long, Elizabeth has been suffering an infatuation. Boone is a beautiful and sensitive man. He, too, is infatuated. He finds Elizabeth beautiful, despite of the fact that she is twelve years his senior, and his college professor.
One night, after her car stalls, Boone offers her a ride home. She is hesitant to accept because she finds him so desirable, and is afraid to trust herself with this young man. Boone finds nothing wrong with giving her a ride home, and insists on her company.
This eventually leads to a night of hot sex. More than that, both Boone and Elizabeth are terrified that it may be more than sex. The love scenes in this book are at thoroughly arousing, as your heart is pulled into their actions. Elizabeth's attraction to him starts out based on the incredible sensuality that is a part of Boone's being. Boone finds Elizabeth just as sexy. He knows there is more to the outer person, and that is part of what makes it work for the two of them.
Ms. Reed can be very proud of A Fine Work of Art. The relationship that she develops in Boone and Elizabeth is very telling. People can overcome any obstacle to make a relationship work. Boone and Elizabeth mainly had to get past their age differences and propriety. It was very fulfilling to read A Fine Work of Art to its conclusion. Ms. Reed, I am eager to read more from you very soon.
