S.H.A.P.E. is a perfect fit for any ministry! Author Erik Rees leads readers through a progressive series of insightful questions and interactive exercises to help them determine their God-given S.H.A.P.E. The acronym stands for a Christian's unique blend of Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences. When that last page is turned, everyone will have discovered the personal treasure that resides within themselves.
The concept of S.H.A.P.E. was first introduced in Rick Warren's bestseller, The Purpose Driven Life. Erik Rees is Pastor Warren's colleague at Saddleback Church, and has been commissioned to further explain this vital concept. The author's enthusiasm and sincerity urgently calls readers to enter this path of discovery. Each principle is discussed in a simple and straightforward manner. The interactive nature of the book makes it seem like a personal conversation, giving the message an added emotional layer. Every reader will feel as if these words were directed at themselves, causing them to seriously analyze their lives in an effort to fulfill their unique purpose in life.
Each turn of the page brings forth encouragement and spiritual enlightenment. Bible verses and real-life stories increase the impact of the author's teaching, while space is given for the reader to record their own thoughts. An almost tangible air of excitement hovers over the book, as the challenging thoughts lead to the glorious conclusion that every Christian is endowed with special gifts from God. Readers may consider these pages to be a spiritual treasure map; only in place of an "X", the letters SH.A.P.E. point out the true riches.
