Hope Winston went to Bari, Italy to run the English Language Center while her friend the Center's director, recuperated from being hit by a car. Shortly after Hope moved into her friend's house, she noticed strange things happening there. Kay feared for Hope's life and urged Hope to go to her friend, the local police captain. Hope thought it was just teenagers pulling harmless pranks and things would die down eventually. Seeing Kay's distress, Hope finally gave in and with trepidation decided to seek out Kay's friend, Captain Frank Rivera. The only problem was, Hope hated and despised cops.

At Kay's request, Frank Rivera, agreed to watch over her American friend while Kay was trying to recover from her near fatal hit-and-run accident. When Frank first spotted the blond beauty outside the English Language Center, he was mesmerized. But every time he went looking to introduce himself she had either just left the building or her office, which left Frank frustrated. It was to his delight and surprise when the elusive Ms. Hope came seeking him out while he was sitting in on one of the classes at the Center and shyly and with trepidation asked for his help in trying to stop the suspicious things going on at her house.

Hope and Frank experienced instant and strong attraction from the moment they first met. Will Hope be able to get past her strong hate for cops and come to care for the sexy Italian Captain Frank Rivera? Will Frank be able to get past the strong barriers Hope has set around her heart? Will they be able to put aside past fears to forge a strong future? A future they might not have if they can't stop the dangerously things surrounding first Kay and then Hope and the little house they live in.

Port of Paradise is a fast pace romantic adventure set in the beautiful country of Italy. The action will keep you on your toes and anxiously turning the pages to find out what will happen next. The romance between the h/h is very explosive and very hot and endearing, as the care they have for each other grows stronger than any fears they have had. Lisa Marie Rice brings a new and exciting dimension to the Romantic Suspense genre with her wonderfully written story, Port of Paradise. This will definitely be a keeper on my bookshelves and one you should not miss out on.

Having spent most of his life as a soldier/warrior, a soldier that knew how to kill, kill well and with no remorse, now found himself trying to tamper down his intimidating warrior demeanor and win Suzanne's approval to lease him the adjoining business space. A space he needed for his ever growing Security business.

The longer he sat on the other side of her desk, the hotter his thoughts became. Thoughts of taking Suzanne to bed, ripping off her clothes and making wild animalistic sex with her. John tried to use all of his conditioned control to tamper those thoughts because Suzanne was a classy and delicate lady and one he knew he had to woo and handle gently. If he even knew how, but he was bound and determined to have her and do whatever it takes to get her into his bed.

When Suzanne first laid eyes upon John, she could sense the danger and control surrounding him, which made her cautious for she had never encountered a man...a warrior like John before. The looks John gave her, looks that said her just might gobble her up, made her heart race. Could she have a man like John living just a few steps away? He was decorated soldier and a mutual friend advised her how reliable John Huntington was; now... if she can just keep this a professional relationship and not think about his broad shoulders and the promising heat in his eyes.

Someone was out to kill Suzanne. Will John be able to keep her alive and find out who had put a very professional hit on her and why? Will they be able to contain the flames that leap up between them?

The Midnight Man is an action packed story that keeps you on your toes throughout the book. While these two characters are totally opposite in personalities, they find something in each other that they have been looking for all their lives without even knowing it. Lisa Marie Rice tells a wonderful tale of love and intrigue in the Midnight Man. The personalities of the characters are wonderful and the action and sex scenes dynamite. A great book all around and one I highly recommend. The Midnight Man is Ellora's Cave author, Lisa Marie Rice's stunning debut and an author to keep an eye out for in the future.
